Pillows are about the only thing I can say I KNOW how to sew. They are, after all, the first thing a beginner sewer seamstress person who likes to sew stuff learns how to make. And, that’s as far as my Mom got in teaching me sewing skills. I’m in the process of making a little robot bag (I started it like 2 months ago, and haven’t touched it since) for my son, but let’s face it, a bag is like a pillow with one end not sewn. So, really, my skills are nill.
But, the thing is, throw pillows can make such a huge impact in a room. Take this cool room for example that Amanda and her husband from Dixie Delights remodeled – a bunch of those pretty embellished pillows were made by Amanda and her Mom. I found the original post over at the Creativity Exchange with lots of great pictures. Amanda has a tutorial on how to make the pillows – click here. Unfortunately, it looks like there might be an issue with her pictures because they weren’t showing up for me (maybe just a glitch and it will be all cleared up by the time you go there), so you can peruse some of them at Creativity Exchange if you need.
